Chapter Network

  • 119 chapters in 46 states
  • Volunteer network of 12,000 members
  • 3,000 scholar-athletes honored at the youth and high school levels

College Football Hall of Fame

  • Shrine to the game in Sound Bend, IN.
  • 785 Hall of Fame players enshrined
  • 168 Hall of Fame coaches enshrined
  • 268 schools represented with Hall of Famers
  • Hosts over 200 events each year
  • Annual enshrinement festival weekend each August

National Scholar-Athlete Program

  • Unveiled in 1959 to honor college football players for athletic and academic success
  • 15 scholar-athletes honored annually
  • All recipients awarded $18,000 postgraduate fellowships
  • Candidates chosen from all levels of college football

The Draddy Trophy

  • 25-pound trophy awarded to the nation's top college football scholar-athlete of the year, awarded since 1990
  • An additional $7,500 added to scholarship, bringing total award to $25,000
  • Often referred to as "The Academic Heisman"

Play It Smart

  • Academic-mentoring program reaches 11,000 students nationwide
  • 136 current schools in 87 cities and 35 states
  • Graduation rates up %11
  • College matriculation rates up 40%
  • 88% of participants come from from minority backgrounds

NFL/NFF Coaching Academy

  • More than 9,000 coaches attended 60 Academies in 2005
  • Elevates the quality of coaching at the youth and high school levels
  • Attendees impact 362,000 kids annually
  • Promotes increased participation through better coaching

Annual Awards Dinner

  • End-of-season tradition since 1958
  • Black-tie affair that showcases those who embody the spirit of the game
  • Held each December at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City
  • Site of the Hall of Fame induction ceremony
  • Next Dinner: December 6, 2005


Annual Awards

  • The National High School Scholar-Athlete Awards acknowledge four of the best and brightest at the high school level
  • The MacArthur Trophy is annually presented to the outstanding college football team of the year since 1959
  • Six other national awards presented at the annual Awards Luncheon and Dinner
