2010 Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony
The 45th Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Ceremony took place on
February 13, 2011 at Qwest field. For the past 45
years, our annual banquet has been held to recognize and award
scholarships to outstanding local football players who
excel on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Jay Chakravarty 
James Boker Jay Chakravarty (Liberty) and James
Boker (Redmond) were honored
with the top two awards, each receiving a $2000 scholarship from
the Seattle NFF Chapter.
The other finalists were Ben Emanuels (Mercer Island), Louis
Jachim (Newport), Alex Smith (Eastside Catholic), Kyle
Clark (Tahoma), Dallas Gosselin (Bothell) and Tyler Jewett (Kentlake).
They will each receive $500 scholarships.
Tom Merrill, former Coach Kennedy High School, was
honored with the Tony
Gasparovich Award. This
award is presented by the Seattle-King County Chapter to football
supporters who exhibit love and dedication of the game through
their principles and leadership with those they work with.
The Seattle Seahawks were presented with the E.R.
"Rusty" Young Memorial "Sponsor of the Year" Award.
This award is presented by the Seattle Chapter to an
outstanding individual and/or corporation who exhibits undying
commitment and dedication to the game through his contributions
for the benefit of the scholar-athlete.
Mike Brown (710 ESPN Seattle and 97.3
KIRO FM sports anchor & reporter) served as Master
of Ceremonies for the event. The featured guest speaker was Ron
Dilatush, Director of Membership NFF.
